Keep your nail clients coming back every three weeks
Gels lift at around three weeks, which gives nail salons something most businesses would kill for — a built-in reason for the client to return on a schedule. The job of a loyalty card here is to make sure that return booking is with you rather than the salon that had a Tuesday slot free.

A client who only ever books pedicures should not be filling the same card as someone in every three weeks for infills. Each service can carry its own stamp scheme, so the reward matches what that client actually buys and does not quietly subsidise the cheapest treatment on your list.
Stamped while the polish dries
Appointments end with a few minutes of waiting anyway. The client scans the QR code with the hand that is done, from their seat, without touching anything of yours — which matters when the alternative is handling a paper card with wet nails.
Something to say at the rebook
"Your next one is free" is a far easier sentence than "would you like to book again". The stamp count is visible on the client's own phone, so the prompt to rebook comes from something they can see rather than from you having to sell it.
The three-week window
Nail salons live or die on rebooking rate. A client whose gels are lifting will book somewhere in the next week — the only question is whether it is with you. Most salons try to solve this at the end of the appointment, by asking. That works on the clients who were going to rebook anyway.
A stamp card works on the ones who were not sure. Four stamps towards a free infill is a reason to check your availability first rather than searching for whoever can fit them in.
Why per-service cards matter here more than elsewhere
In a café, everything costs roughly the same, so one card is fine. In a nail salon, the spread between a file-and-polish and a full set with art is large enough that a single card creates a perverse incentive: the client fills it with the cheapest thing on your list and redeems against the most expensive.
Running a card per treatment fixes that without any awkward conversations. The pedicure card and the gel card count separately, and each reward is priced against the service that earned it.
What the client experiences
Nothing to install and no account to create. They point their phone camera at the QR code on your reception screen, a web page opens showing their stamp card, and that is the whole interaction. The card is remembered on their phone for a year.
If someone gets stamped by mistake — the wrong client, the wrong card — there is a two-minute undo from either the salon’s screen or the client’s own.
Cost
$29/month per salon, flat, with unlimited stamps and unlimited clients. If you run more than one location, each is its own account, and there are bulk discounts from three sites.
The questions everyone asks
Can different treatments be worth different numbers of stamps?
Yes. You set up each card and decide what earns a stamp, so a full set can count differently from a file and polish. Most salons start with one card per main treatment and adjust after a month once they can see which ones clients actually fill.
My clients are mostly regulars I know by name. Why bother?
Because knowing them by name is not the same as being their default. Regulars are exactly who a stamp card holds, since they are the ones close enough to a reward for it to matter. It costs you nothing for the one-off clients who never come back.
What if a client changes phone?
If they have done nothing, the card lives on that device and a new phone starts fresh. Any client can link a Google, Facebook or email account from their own screen in one tap, which moves their existing stamps across automatically. It is their choice, and never required.
Do I need to buy a tablet for reception?
No. The kiosk is a web page, so it runs on whatever you already have — a laptop at reception, an old iPad, or a monitor on the wall. Nothing is printed, because each code expires after thirty seconds and a printed one would stop working immediately.
