Built for dry cleaners

A loyalty card that survives the trip home

Dry cleaning is one of the few remaining trades where the customer comes to the counter twice for a single transaction. That is two chances to be memorable and two chances to be forgotten, and almost every dry cleaner uses neither.

Two touchpoints, one stamp

Drop-off and collection are both counter moments, so you can put the scan wherever your queue is shortest. Most use collection, since the customer is already waiting while you find the order, and the drop-off queue is the one that actually needs to move fast.

No email address to ask for

Asking a customer for an email at a dry cleaning counter is where most loyalty schemes die — it adds thirty seconds and half the answers are wrong anyway. Nothing is required here. The card exists on their phone from the first scan with no account and no details handed over.

Priced for high-frequency, low-margin work

Dry cleaning margins do not support a percentage discount to everyone. A stamp card only ever pays out to someone on their tenth visit, which by definition is a customer worth keeping, and it costs nothing at all for the one-off wedding suit.

The questions everyone asks

Should I stamp at drop-off or at collection?

Collection, usually. The customer is standing there anyway while the order is found, so the scan lands in time you have already spent, whereas the drop-off queue is normally the one under pressure. Either works — just pick one and be consistent about it.

What if someone drops off five items at once?

That is your decision when you set the card up. Most dry cleaners stamp per visit rather than per item, because it is simpler to explain and it rewards the behaviour they actually want, which is coming back regularly rather than batching everything into one trip a year.

Does this need to link to my ticketing system?

No. It sits completely outside whatever you use for tickets and orders, so there is nothing to integrate and nothing that breaks when either system changes. The scan is a separate action on the customer's own phone.

Our customers are mostly older. Will they use a QR code?

Most will, because it is the same camera action used for menus and parking, and there is nothing to install or sign up for at the end of it. For anyone who would rather not, you can credit a stamp manually from the dashboard and nothing about their visit changes.
